Full Presentation
A full presentation would be 20 minutes long, usually PowerPoint or similar to provide visuals. It would discuss a specific technical, business or sustainability subject or research area. The presentation should include some scientific evidence of your hypothesis and/or demonstrate best practices and the proven results of such practices. You should provide the reasons for your research and examples of how this is applied in industry or research.
Poster Presentation
A poster is a way to present informally to attendees visiting the expo and poster sessions. It allows for the presenter to have small group or one-on-one conversations to discuss research and topics around distillation and related industries. Presenters will gain insight on future research directions or new investigation techniques through these interactions.
Pecha Kucha Presentation
The Pecha Kucha presentation style focuses on three main elements: Visuals (no text), Storytelling and Time. Here are some key tips to keep in mind:
- Select Strong Visuals: Use strong, eye-catching pictures and images with very little to no text on each slide. The more your audience has to decipher your slides, the less they listen to you!
- Storytelling: Think about the story you want to tell. Choose images that are not only relevant, but also captivating to help convey your story and area of expertise.
- Time: The format is a 20:20 slide show: 20 visual slides, 20 seconds each (each auto-advances after 20 seconds). Think about how to engage your audience and familiarize yourself with the software you’ll use to create and automatically advance your slides. The total presentation time is just under seven minutes.
